Biography

About

Richard Badger is a senior lecturer in the School of Education at the University of Leeds, Leeds, UK. He coordinates the MA TESOL programme and teaches modules in Teaching and Learning in TESOL, Investigating Language for TESOL and Learning and Teaching Vocabulary. His research interests include the teaching of academic writing, argument in academic contexts and academic listening. He has published in ELT Journal, the Journal of Second Language Writing, the Journal of Pragmatics, System and ESP Journal. He is currently working on a project investigating how undergraduates learn from biology lectures, focussing on the roles that PowerPoint play in this learning and on how teachers of ESP deal with topics where they lack disciplinary expertise.
