Biography
About
John Pill is a lecturer in the Department of Linguistics and English Language at Lancaster University. He undertakes research on testing language for specific purposes, the scope and definition of language constructs, language assessment literacy, test users’ perspectives, and test impact. He is interested in the nature of discourse communities and how newcomers gain access to them in terms of language. He studies English used in medical/healthcare contexts and academic contexts..
