Biography
About
Amanda Bayliss is a PhD student in the Faculty of Education at The University of Melbourne. She currently teaches in the Faculty of Arts and also works in the university's Language and Learning Skills Unit. Amanda was Acting Director of Studies at the Bond University English Language Institute in Queensland, where she developed and co-ordinated undergraduate and postgraduate English preparation programs and first trained as an IELTS examiner. Her areas of research interest include second language proficiency evaluation, second language behaviour in the academic learning context, impression formation and gesture studies. In her PhD research she is examining the role of kinesic factors on the impressions formed of L2 English speakers.
